Dear Uncle Sam!

Uncle Sam was in country for 3 days with fleets and fleets of Navy on the shores to protect him. Uncle Sam the mighty who has been humbled by the Economic crisis . Dear Uncle Sam , the self proclaimed elder brother of all countries.

Uncle Sam delivered nice speeches, talked to students , talked about great things about the country, However Uncle Sam never declared our neighbour rogue , which it is. Uncle Sam never gave us the culprit of Bhopal Gas tragedy . Uncle Sam did not even promise more jobs here rather took the promise to create more jobs there from enterpreuners here :).
so it was a win win situation for sammy and no situation for us...

300

The title evokes a sight of the battlefield in the Movie 300, where a group of Spartans fought against the most powerful Persian of those days , Xerxes. A handful of Spartans fighting a huge Persian army with their sheer courage .
However this is not what i am recollecting while i am writing as because there are too many things going on in the media today to think about 300 in that context. With 300 what i get back is the 300% hike that our revered parliamentarians had demanded. For a while i argued with myself as pro and anti of this demand. The Anti definitely had a weightage over Pro ,however the pro did make a point. Its not easy to manage a country of such a diversity , and someone who does it well should be definitely applauded. The biggest achievement of this government was that it stood like a wall against the cascading effect of America's stooping economy which left the entire world reeling. This is certainly a big achievement. There are few other things which also can be considered pro- demand. Further if the countries economy is growing leaps and bounds let the law makers /breakers get some benefit 'officially' out of it.

May be a nod of the people and not a frown would have been obtained , but suddenly a can was opened and out came large number of worms. First was the CWG worm , fed and nourished by our dear friend Kalmadi and his team. The CWG exchequer charged the country an amount close to a decent general election exchequer. A recent news stated that the price of a bulb was charged 100 times its normal value. In that case when the budget for the games crossed the limit thrice or more, wasn't that the responsibility of the government to interfere and do some basic check. The high handedness of government in handling this and laundering the tax payers money is unpardonable.
Next comes our dearest Telecom minister and his felonies which is splashed across the papers nowadays. Surprisingly the cabinet head is silent on the matter and hasn't responded to the land's highest court. Dearest Raja , is now a Raja in true sense with immense amount of annexed , bribed wealth. Now few of these 'venerable' parliamentarians have been publicly stripped in the media, but most of them still remain under covers and would reign the term and leave contently with opulence locked away in Swiss bank accounts.

So now the real question is, if we have the law and policy makers savouring upon country's money, will 300% raise affect them in anyway. Will that bring down the corruption rate .Owing to the fact that the salary would be much higher now will the greed cease or at least would be ashamed to raise its head ?
They say Greed has no Bound! and since a man eater never eats anything else, these people will never stop the plunder. So until a legislation has been passed to break down upon these people with severe penalty and punishment , let their paychecks be humbler!

So here it is 300 - group of Spartans standing up for the country against a mighty emperor till the last breath , to save it from being masacared and enslaved.
300 - a group of looters sitting in the governing bodies , behaving like changez khan or ghanzis who once raided our country.
Life's .. no no Country's Irony!.
